Make & Take Dog Toys Update #2

During the month of June, we are asking the community to help us make 200 dog toys to donate to Fences for Fido. Come by during regular store hours for FREE Make & Take dog toys -- make one to take home to your pup and another to donate.

Founded in 2009, Fences for Fido has a mission to improve the quality of life for dogs in Oregon and SW Washington who spend most or all hours confined to a tether or small kennel. They provide a fenced yard, insulated shelter, spay/neuter surgery, and urgent veterinary care as needed.

Last Monday, we had 133 toys in our baskets.

On Wednesday, we took a bunch of scraps to our corporate office in downtown Portland and invited everyone to help us hit that 200 toy goal. After two hours, we had 53 more toys.

Our dog toy count first thing Friday morning was 194.

Over the weekend, we rocketed past our goal of 200 toys! And with just over a week to go in June, we are at 272 toys going to Fidos in need in Oregon and SW Washington. Can we hit 300? 350? What do you think the final count will be?
